by HiRez ESports | Jul 04, 2014
There are 2 weeks left in the Regional Qualifiers and those top 4 spots are still open for a hand full of teams. Especially in the European region, we've seen new teams reach the #1 spot. Exposed Secrets, SK Gaming and Team Coast are all example of teams who have come from the bottom and worked their way up to be contenders.

Check out the current standings and our predictions on the upcoming weekend tournament:

Current Standings:

Predictions:
                                    North America
Cognitive Gaming – With Team Dignitas being gone to compete in the RTX tournament, Cognitive Gaming will set their sights on claiming 1st and 100 seed points. They took down Five Angry Men 2-0 last week to claim the crown. We expect to see them take the crown once again, which will put them over Team Dignitas by 20 seed points for the 1st place ranking.

Five Angry Men - Taking down Dignitas last week net Five Angry Men a shot at the 1st place crown. They’ve have to taken down CognitiveRED to advance to the finals against Cognitive, but if they’ve done it once they can do it again. Scoring 2nd place will help Five Angry Men in the fight for 4th seed.

Snipe - The qualifier series has been a rollercoaster ride for Snipe. They’ve taken multiple victories and sit firmly in 3rd place. Snipe has had a tough bracket, facing Cognitive week after week. We expect them to continue growing their lead against the lower seeds.

                                       Europe

Team SoloMid - What a battleground it has been for European teams, especially Team SoloMid. They dropped out of the spotlight only to come back and take 1st place in last week’s tournament. Now they are only 5 points behind 1st place seed Cloud9. Could this be the return on TSM to the crown?

Cloud 9 HyperX - They took a tough loss against Exposed Secrets last week, but we don’t expect this to slow down Cloud9. They performed well all season and remain the top seeded team out of Europe. If there was ever a time to be very serious about tournament play, it is these following weeks.

SK Gaming

- Where other teams have come and gone SK Gaming is making a name for themselves in their wake. They’ve performed well in recent tournaments and see have their eyes set on the prize. They took a good victory against IIIII last week and we expect to see them take 3rd place in this week’s tournament.

                                Final Verdict
The qualifier series looks to be an incredibly exciting time for both competitive teams and Smite fans. As the competitive scene grows and teams mature we will see more diverse standings.
