Another week, another roller coaster ride here in the EU Regional Qualifiers. With 5 weeks down and 5 to go, the top 4 spots are completely up for grabs. For those of you just tuning in, these teams have been competing for a chance to play in a regional LAN where the top 4 teams will have a chance to showcase their skills in front of a live audience. Its been a long and winding road for both veteran and not-so veteran teams alike. Let's take a look at some of the finer points from Week 5.
Cloud 9 HyperX BloodyTech Worth Gaming
1st 2nd 3rd
First were going to recognize the winners of Week 5 - Cloud 9 HyperX, a team that hasn't seen that top spot since week 1 of the qualifiers. Not having the easiest road to the finals, Cloud 9 overcame some big teams, beating SK Gaming in the Quarter Finals and then a big win over the up and coming Worth Gaming in the Semi-finals. C9 then went on to pull a big victory over Bloodytech, proving that they are still a force to be reckoned with.
Some other noteable events come from the ELOFishers, with a HUGE upset against reigning world champions Team SoloMid. While ELOFishers feel to BloodyTech in the Semi-Finals, it still sets TSM back this week which could potentially open up room in the top 4 slots down the road. Another upset comes from another top 4 team I I I I I, losing in the Round of 16 to a brand new team Optimum eSports. Proving that no team should be taken lightly, we'll see if I I I I I can regain a top spot in weeks to come.
